Why Police Is Upgrading Medical Facilities – IGP

The inspector general of police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar has said that the police  had decided to upgrade medical services in its formations  across the country to  keep  the men and officers of the force in good  mental and physical conditions.

Speaking at the commissioning of the 14-bed Police  Hospital  in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, yesterday,  the IGP  said that no police officer in the whole world  can give his best  service when he was not medically fit.

“ That is why our medical services has to be improved so that the police can offer better services to the nation.’’ , he said.

The  IGP, who said he was highly elated  on the status of the hospital having seen  it  at the delapidated condition it was 14 years  ago, when he was the Abia State commissioner of police , commended the commissioner of police for  realising the urgency of upgrading the hospital.
