Gumsu Sani Abacha sad at Nigeria snub during Mandela Memorial

By GEORGE ONMONYA DANIEL

Gumsu Sani Abacha, the daughter of late Nigerian president, General Sani Abacha, added her voice to the millions of Nigerians who feel sad at what they see as Nigeria being snub by South African government because Nigerian President was not given the honour to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela today. Gumsu told NEWISSUES that:

“To those of you have been hailing Madiba non stop! What have u or your fathers contributed to the livelihoods of others? What impact have u personally made? Madiba was a great man no doubt he deserves all the praise he is receiving. But what have your fathers contributed directly to humanity??? Stop and think… my father did. how about yours?

Its is painful that Nigeria snubbed by RSA today. Since 1963 Nigeria has pumped money to freedom fighters of the ANC, UNITA etc. Millions of dollars have been given by the regimes of MURTALA, IBB and ABACHA to these Freedom fighters. Politically too Nigeria fought for Madiba’s release.Today RSA has forgotten this. They dared not snub us if Gen. Abacha were alive. Cuz last time they tried, they knew what happened. Even Madiba came begging.”

A lot of Nigerians believe that the Nigerian president deserves the honour to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela considering the support Nigeria gave South Africans against the Aparthied regime.
