Company owner accuse Federal Inland Revenue Services of collecting N10,000 for TIN number

NEWISSUES, Abuja

A customer has accused Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) of collecting money for TIN number for company which is supposed to be free. He wrote to NEWISSUES that:

“”We are drawing to your notice another fraud being carried out by FIRS over the ongoing TIN (Tax Identification Number) exercise in the country.

The procedure for TIN says it is free but registrants are being compelled to pay N10,000.00 for company TIN.

The payment information is being conveyed verbally and registrants are told to pay into an account, when there are no documents supporting this payment “.

We are still waiting for responds from the FIRS.
