Barcelona and Atletico Madrid was obviously and unpredictable one. They met five times this season, including the UEFA Champions league first leg yesterday and played draw, only this time an away goal can make all the difference if the second leg ends in a goalless draw.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich was a different ball game. Not even hardcore Manchester United fans expect so much from the Red Devils. It was a case of if they lose, it was expected, if they draw, they tried, if they win, they will brag about it. With pressure on David Moyes for under performance and the players for being nowadays refer to as ‘average’, one expected a stiff resistance from Manchester United against the Champions, Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
Now with both matches in the Champions League, Tuesday 1st Apil 2014, ending in one all draw, who qualifies to the quarter finals looks just unpredictable. Manchester United have earn something from the first match and that is pride and confidence. Pride and confidence can take a good team anywhere as long as it doesn’t get too much into their head. Bayern Munich will be playing for everything in the Alliance Arena back home in the second round even though the German have an away goal advantage. For Barcelona, it is going to be tricky. They can only afford a one all draw or win the game. Any other draw and Barcelona is out.
