And so on and so forth…confusion everywhere!
Working under Gen. Buhari must be a pretty humiliating experience especially for those who had attained certain heights in their professions before joining govt.
Where a leader spends 6months picking ‘saints’ to work with and then turns round to helplessly lament about “saboteurs” in his govt, then there’s a clear, distinct and undeniable leadership vacuum. Asides that, I wonder how investors and the international community assess Nigeria policy-wise…chai!
As I have consistently maintained, integrity (or anti-corruption credentials) may be a core value of leadership but it can NEVER be the only value. Cerebral strength and ability to effectively delegate responsibility are absolute requirements for successful leadership in the 21st century. This is not the dark ages, this is a complex modern age where keen understanding and effective teamwork is key to proper management.
I pray for Nigeria…let Buhari do his anti-corruption bit, clean up where he can and leave the stage for a more astute leader come 2019. Under Buhari, even if we succeed in achieving zero corruption levels (an impossibility), we’ll still be bogged down by an overbearing leader whose modern day leadership ability is equally near zero.
And then, zero plus zero equals…?
