Chief Femi Fani-Kayode have responded to allegation of receiving corruption money from the previous administration or benefiting from such as baseless and unsustainable. In his own word he responded that
“The allegations are baseless and unsustainable. The whole thing is a desperate attempt to demonise me before the world and my friends and supporters before pouncing on me, arresting me, locking me up indefinately and attempting to destroy me.
The whole exercise is well-planned, well-funded and politically-motivated and I am the primary target.”

A CURIOUS ALLEGATION OF FRAUD
I owe it to my friends on social media to make the following clarifications.
The EFCC have not made any formal allegation against me and neither have I been questioned or invited by them.
What I have seen and read are spurious and childish allegations of fraud in some newspapers which they claim were leaked by the EFCC.
The day the EFCC makes a formal accusation or allegation against me I will respond forcefully and clearly and I will defend myself.
Until then I am not prepared to say anything on this matter except the following.
The allegations are baseless and unsustainable. The whole thing is a desperate attempt to demonise me before the world and my friends and supporters before pouncing on me, arresting me, locking me up indefinately and attempting to destroy me.
The whole exercise is well-planned, well-funded and politically-motivated and I am the primary target.
I did not receive ANY money from Central Bank or any other government agency or official for the Presidential campaign or for any other purpose or enterprise either in my bank account or in cash.
The money I received for my budget as Director of Media and Publicity for the Jonathan presidential campaign was paid into my account by the Director of Finance of our campaign organisation.
These were not public funds as I was reliably informed by the Director of Finance that the money came from funds that were raised by the private sector to support President Jonathan’s re-election bid.
Every kobo of the money that was deposited into my account was used for the Presidential campaign and my Directorate rendered full and formal accounts at every point to the Auditor, the Director-General and the Director of Finance of the Presidential Campaign Organisation.
Interestingly no less than 72 per cent of the money that we spent went to the press and media houses directly for adverts, jingles etc. and we have records to prove this.
I am proud to say that our role in the campaign and the handling of my Directorate’s finances were commended by President Jonathan after the election.
The level of accountability and transparancy in my Directorate was second to none and we were singled out for commendation for that in the final report by the President and all those that gave us the money to work with.
The truth is that we did a very effective job during the campaign, we gave our adversaries hell and we paid all our bills for services rendered by media houses and contractors in full before winding up.
Any claim that I did anything fraudulent or illegal is malicious, baseless, absurd and obviously politically-motivated.
The attempt to maliciously tarnish my name and rope me into something that I obviously know nothing about is shameful.
It is a mark of the desperatiom and frustration of those who hate me and who despise me for my political views and affiliation and just like before it will fail woefully.
As long as Jesus lives it is those that are digging a pit for me that shall be ashamed and that shall fall into that pit themselves. Thank you.
