NIGERIA 0 – 2 South Africa
South African Bafana Bafana beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State in a World Cup qualifier.
In the first 45 minutes the Super Eagles dominated the game but didn’t create much chances. Iheaacho and Iwobi just didnt find their rhythm obviously because of being on the bench too much in the clubs in the English Premier League. Both were substituted in the second half.
But in the second half, South Africa stepped up their game. After scoring early to lead the Super Eagle, a confident South Africa knew they were on the verge of making history. An amateurish Super Eagles came out to attack and severally South Africa missed good changes before they scored again in a counter attack. It was the end for the Super Eagles. Even after 2 goal down they didn’t create much chances and South Africa would have added more goals if they had taken their chances.
Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel didn’t play because of injury problems and it showed in the game.
