President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, accepted the resignation of the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji.
Nnaji is currently enmeshed in a certificate scandal.
University of Nigeria, UNN, Nsukka had earlier disowned a degree certificate he claimed was issued to him by the school.
According to the School, though Nnaji was once its student, he failed to graduate.
President Tinubu, in a statement that was signed by his Special Adviser, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said he accepted Nnaji’s resignation “following some allegations against him.”
“He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.
“Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.
” President Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours,” the statement further read.
