“Senator Abba Moro is not defecting from PDP,” Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, the media adviser to the Senate minority leader wrote on Facebook. This is the upteeth time Abba Moro has reiterated his position. Emmanuel wrote:
“The attention of the senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro PhD, has been drawn to online report that he has perfected plans to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“Senator Moro finds the rumour ridiculous as there’s no discussion anywhere with anybody to that effect .
“The senator, a founding member of PDP, remains fully committed to the ideals and values of the party, and will continue to remain with it. The senator acknowledges that PDP is enmeshed in some crises now but maintains that the party has effective inbuilt mechanism to resolve same crises.
“He urges the general public to disregard the rumour and see it as the handiwork of mischief makers who are losing sleep over the capability of PDP to rise from the crises stronger and more competitive.
“The senator enjoins PDP members across the country to remain faithful to the party and continue to work towards building and returning the party to its winning ways.”
This has become an issue because of the defection of Senator David Mark, former Senate President to the ADC of which he is the chairman. Abba Moro has assured his supporters that he is not defecting. NEWISSUES asked insider if there is a problem between Mark and Moro. From what we have learned there is no problem. However, NEWISSUES gathered that Abba Moro would prefer to defecting to the APC if he make up his mind to leave the PDP.
