Rainstorm wreaks havoc on the Talwari area IDP Camp inside Government Science Secondary School, Bama on 7th May 2026.

Strong wind that characterised heavy rain in the Sahel Savannah and heavy rain destroyed multiple home and millions of naira worth of properties, Fatimah Muhammad who shared the story said. She hinted on casualties due to the natural disaster.


Few years ago, the world watched as Alo dam collapsed flooding Maiduguri where hundreds drowned and many went missing. Bama is the biggest local government in Borno State, but far from the Alo Dam’s disaster. However, the Yedzaram river flows through Bama and get flooded sometimes.
