Man shares photo of children begging at night in Sokoto

A man on a visit to Sokoto shares photos of children begging in the middle of the night in the middle of some major road in Sokoto.

“I just snap these photos at Roundabout Mai Ruwa – Sokoto. Plenty kids are roaming about begging at this hour of the night. Where are their mothers? These are not regular almajiri. Arewa Kam, babu kunya ba tsoron Allah.” Musty Lala wrote on Facebook.

Recently, some Islamic scholars have come out to condemn the practice of people marrying and giving birth to children they cannot take care of. Many have complained that the government should not allow children on the streets at night.

However, recent attacks by Fulani bandits have displaced many village dweller who.seek refuge in Sokoto city. Some of them have no means of livelihood than begging.
