As the ADC coalition has disintegrated, Rotimi Amaechi has positioned himself to outsmart Atiku by picking the presidential ticket since Peter Obi and Kwankwaso have left the party with their people.
Leading the campaign is Ibrahim Garba Wala, popularly called IG Wala, controversial activist turned politician and member of the ADC. IG Wala is championing the campaign for Rotimi Amaechi to be presidential candidate of the party. He opined that the presidential candidate should be zoned to South.
Ibrahim Wala claimed Rotimi Amaechi has no controversy and nothing negative attached to his name, he said Amaechi is well traveled, and he has posted on poster of Rotimi Amaechi on his Facebook wall as a show of support. Mr. Wala claimed Rotimi Amaechi has been the bridge between the Northern and Southern part of Nigeria. IG Wala advises Atiku Abubakar to endorse Atiku.
IG Wala said the aspect of zoning is what they should speak about honestly. He hammered on the gentlemanly agreement between the South and the North, however, that has only helped in power sharing between Fulani ethnic group and Yoruba people that has marginalised other Nigerians.
After Obi departure from the ADC, it is clear Rotimi Amaechi has gotten into the game to push the narrative of the zoning arrangement against an Atiku who is not willing to bulge for anyone.
